Sustainability

Our Sustainability Policy is dedicated to promoting environmentally responsible practices in every aspect of our business. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and fostering a culture of sustainability within our company and community.

To harness renewable energy to power our operations, our office building is powered by renewable energy through a large solar installation on the roof. This generates clean, renewable energy and reduces our reliance on non-renewable sources.

Energy Systems

We’re part of an eco-system that is taking steps every day to reduce our impact on the environment and our local community. This includes the installation of new smart lighting and heating systems. New, energy efficient windows and doors have also been installed throughout the building.

– 323 solar panels have been installed

– 131kW solar PV system installed

– 102,320 kWh annual energy production

– 21% annual grid electricity usage reduction

– Annual CO2 reduction of ~ 27,636 kg

Sustainability Cluster

Transformation to non-carbon energy sources, 3-D printing of new houses and manufacturing compostable personal protective equipment for the medical sector are just some of the areas in which GEC companies are changing the world.

Eamon Ryan T.D., Minister for the Environment and Climate, launched the cluster at the Guinness Enterprise Centre on February 24th, 2023.

As a resident company at the GEC, we engage with the GEC Sustainability Cluster for peer-to-peer networking, learning and engagement with corporates, regulators and funders. It helps us understand the latest trends and challenges.

Suppliers

We insist on working with suppliers who adhere to sustainable practices.

Collaboration with suppliers committed to sustainable work practices ensures that our print work’s paper is sourced from sustainable paper suppliers*.

*What is Sustainable Paper?
Sustainable paper is produced using environmentally responsible practices, including:

  • The use of recycled materials to reduce waste.
  • Responsible forestry management to prevent deforestation and promote biodiversity.
  • Reduced water and energy usage in the production process to minimize environmental impact.

Partnerships

We are also committed to learning from others and we are a proud member of Techies Go Green, a not-for-profit organisation building a community of businesses that have set themselves the goal of verifiably cutting their carbon footprint and becoming more sustainable.

Conclusion

We are committed to integrating sustainability into all aspects of our business operations. By adopting these initiatives, we aim to contribute to a healthier planet and a more sustainable future.

We believe that we have a significant role to play in raising awareness of climate change, which is also a communications challenge. We encourage our customers to prioritise (and in some cases re-think) their actions and commitments in this space. We look forward to working with more businesses to bring their sustainability journey to life – continuously helping to influence more stakeholders throughout the value chain.
