Overview
A Wild Welcome: How is it that Ireland’s west coast’s wild, rugged, dramatic landscapes have such a strong association with welcome, hospitality and gourmet food? Perhaps it’s because the same blustering winds, rain-swept hills and crashing waves that stimulate the appetite and draw us closer to the turf fire, are the source of so many delicious types of food. These are the things that draw visitors to Lisdoonvarna and what better way to get excited about your trip than through a graceful and alluring website experience. These are the things that draw guests back to Wild Honey Inn, time after time.
The Solutions
A sense of place married with a visceral feeling, that is the Burren, were key to this website design and structure. Although many come for food and lodgings in Ireland’s only Michelin Star dining pub, it was still necessary to go beyond the obvious and get users thinking about the language and visual inspiration that is rooted all around the area. Owners Aidan and Kate take centre stage and with their narrative flowing through the site this keeps the niche offering top of mind for would-be visitors. Balancing specific literary references, stylised imagery of delightful seasonal food and the warmth and originality of the accommodation were key components in the photography brief.
Open has given us the new image we wanted and more. The nice thing about OPEN is that they listen to you, they understand the restaurant and hospitality business. Critically, they know how their business can work for yours.
