Project
Overview
Creating a brand new website for the GPO Museum was an exciting prospect. As a cultural attraction of national and historical importance, it was vital to create a website that respected the gravitas of the museum’s theme, while also engaging with a new audience and igniting the public’s connection to the story of 1916 and beyond. The museum’s website presence had previously been limited to a subsection of the An Post overall website, so in effect we were creating a new vision for museum, with its own dedicated website. This, while challenging, provided an opportunity for an innovative approach to a museum housed in one of Ireland’s most iconic historic buildings.
The Solutions
The new website features high-quality content, which has transformed the user experience, enhanced the GPO brand identity, and enabled it to increase conversions. This engaging website reflects what the museum has to offer, attracts potential customers and strengthens its content marketing efforts.
The museum reports a user-friendly experience that’s encouraging visitors to return. The client also enjoys a new experience which ensures a seamless experience across all devices. Optimisation for SEO is also a factor that they commend, as they envision increasing traffic to the site, making it a more valuable feature for visitors looking for unique experiences in Dublin.
Through the Fáilte Ireland Digital that Delivers programme, GPO Museum partnered with Open Design & Digital to create a bespoke website which truly reflects the essence of what the museum has to offer. We are very happy with the outcome - the branding, design and content will help us to effectively promote the GPO Museum in the years to come.
